The first time I went to Australia was in 2004, the second time in 2010 and the last time in 2016. Every 6 years to Australia seemed like something to me and so I planned the next trip in 2022.
I probably want to start again in Darwin and drive to Perth with a 4WD. I saw a lot last time, but I didn't see a lot and I want to get that right this time. Lichfield Park is on the list, but also Lake Argyle, Mitchell Falls, Francois Peron NP, Mount Augustus and Marble Bar. Furthermore, I have a

who has been traveling around Australia for 5 years, has found a number of places that also seem to be worth visiting, such as Arnhem Land, Limmen National Park and Dirk Hartog Island. If there is enough time, I would also like to visit the southwest corner this time. I would like to see places like Busselton, Margaret River and Walpole and of course the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin. I don't yet know exactly what that part of the trip will look like, but as mentioned, it also depends a bit on the time available. Finally, I will probably end up back in Palm Cove to rest.
Below is a map of Australia with my general travel plan. I took just over 11 weeks for the first part, and another 10 days for the rest in Palm Cove.
